Welcome to my online practice.  If you are a new client, contact me to set up an initial 1/2 hour complimentary consultation by phone or video.

Most video sessions with me are through  If you’ve read or are already familiar with the info below, use the link I sent you via email to meet me online.

There is no need to download anything for this as doxy works through your main browser on most devices:

– the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari for computer devices;
– for tablets and mobile devices it uses Chrome with Android operating systems and Safari with iOS operating systems only.

Joining me in a video or audio call

To join me in a video call: click the link I sent you via email. This will take you to a screen prompting your name (first name is ok); and asking you to check the box saying that you’ve read my teletherapy agreement or terms of service.  Once you have done that, it will take you to a virtual ‘waiting room’ and I will join you at our meeting time.

There is a small video screen that will show your face – to turn this off, hover the mouse over that screen and three white suspension dots will appear in the upper left corner.  Click on those and scroll down to “hide my preview” to turn off this image of yourself.

Audio/Video settings

Your browser may ask for permissions to use microphone and camera – this will enable our video call.  If you have a default device or browser setting that blocks the use of the microphone and camera, please make sure this is changed to allow them just before our meeting.

A couple more things. Video calls on doxy work best if all other workspaces on your device remain closed for the duration of our call, (calls get dropped if we are tab-switching) and if you are using headphones with a mic attached.

Teletherapy Agreement and Informed Consent

If you would like to get a copy of the teletherapy agreement/ terms of service beforehand to read and make sure you can accept the terms, click here. If you have any questions or concerns about those terms of service, please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them here or during our meeting.

Assessing our Call

The first call may take a few moments to get used to.  If beyond that, we found that it was difficult to connect in this way, because of technical issues or other factors that could come up as we adjust to a new way of working, I recommend we set up a 20 minute phone or video call to troubleshoot these, and see how we might do better. This (first) 20 minute check in is at no charge to you – it’s part of how I would like to facilitate adapting our work together in these new and challenging times.
