“Getting ready for peer support groups”
Training for new volunteers at the Centre for Women and Trans People, U of T.
This was a workshop and discussion as introduction to facilitation and group dynamics, including navigating difference, developing empathy, issues of power and privilege in peer support group settings.
“Gender Journeys” – guest co-facilitator
Sherbourne Health Centre – co-facilitated with Yasmeen Persad and Rupert Raj
This is a cyclical 11-week group offering reliable information and community connection for anyone considering their own gender changes.
“Peer Leadership Training”
Training for Immigrant and Refugee Youth in high schools, in conjunction with Settlement Workers in Schools (Toronto District School Board).
A four-day workshop series preparing Immigrant and Refugee Youth to take on peer leadership positions in their high-school’s orientation programme for newcomers. The training involved addressing issues of culture, anti-racism, bullying in high schools, strengthening support networks and building confidence and leadership skills through interactive discussion, theatre, and storytelling.

This was a workshop on interruptions, changes and transitions within the context of migration and re-building ourselves through relationships and community.
